SALES & MARKETING – ANTHONY LICATA – Page 3
Peak season is here and we are in the midst of it. The housing market continues to be unpredictable. High interest rates and low inventory have slowed relocations in some regions, while others have seen sudden surges due to pent-up demand or seasonal factors. This unevenness directly affects our flow of inbound leads, customer expectations, and booking patterns. It’s a reminder that while we can’t control the market, we can control how we adapt to it — and that starts with staying responsive, creative, and flexible in our sales and service approach. Speaking of adapting to market conditions, so far the Milwaukee expansion has been better than we can ask for. As of 7/1 we have already booked 31 shipments in just a couple months of opening. That, along with some struggles that our fellow Allied agents in our market have been facing has allowed us to be up +71 Allied interstate shipments to this date.
We knew the busy season was coming, but the wave arrived more abruptly than expected. We were caught flat-footed in a few areas, and some of the challenges we faced were self-inflicted. Some miscommunications between sales and operations. These were avoidable, and we’re already working on tightening processes to correct them going forward. Peak season is never easy — long hours, high demand, and tight timelines are part of the deal. But how we handle those pressures defines who we are. Mistakes will happen, but pointing fingers doesn’t move us forward. What does help is staying positive, patient, and disciplined. Let’s keep these things in mind: Problems are opportunities to improve, not assign blame. Communication and teamwork are more important now than ever. A calm, focused mindset keeps us from burning out too early. We don’t know how long this opportunity will last. Many predict peak season will once again be short. But we will want to prolong this for as long as possible. We’re in this together, and I’m proud of the grit I’ve seen from this team. Let’s keep pushing, keep improving, and most importantly — let’s take care of each other while we do it.
