SALES & MARKETING – ANTHONY LICATA – Page 3
As we all expected, peak season is here and we are in the thick of it. As it does every year, peak season comes with stress, extra work load, and more obstacles to maneuver through. While it may seem like it is never ending, we need to take advantage of it while we can because as we learned last year, it may be short lived. As much as we have hoped for interest rates to come down at some point this year, that remains to be seen and we will keep our fingers crossed. As busy as we may seem at the moment, we are still down 44 shipments year to date. While International, Local, and National account is down by about 100 shipments in total; O&I, and Consumer is up +57 shipments, keeping the deficit close. I’ve said this so many times, thank god we are a well verse company! While one area of business is down, the other areas are there to pick us up and vice versa. As expected, this year is playing out to be very similar to last year even though we have slightly less total volume YTD. However, Reebie is in a much better place as a company now then we were last year. After last years dramatic drop in volume compared to 2022, we were able to better prepare for this year by making some fine tune adjustments, continuing to expand our services, and fill up some empty space in our warehouse with a bit of help from All Chicagoland/Goodmoves. Speaking of All Chicagoland, I want to extend a special thank you to Jamie Bergin. After the resignation of Ruthie Bast just before peak season, the coordination staff was left short handed during a time when we needed to have all hands on deck. Jaime, who wears a lot of different hats over at ACLM in coordination, accounting, etc. was kind enough to fill in that gap for us and assist us in coordination for the summer, while still maintaining her other duties at ACLM. Thank you Jamie! As for the future I still remain very optimistic! Reebies local capacity calendar continues to fill up, and our total conversion rate is averaging at about 26% despite leads being down 15% YTD. This means that despite seeing less leads, our sales team is booking more shipments. As a company, all the right tools are in place and we are doing everything right. Bring it on summer!
