OPERATIONS: JEFF ABBS – Page 6
The year is over and 2023 left us with many disappointments. The majority of our business lines were down and it’s been challenging to keep our movers busy. The good news is we can put that in the past and look forward as we start the New Year. However, we are going to continue to face many of the same challenges as we did in 2023 and until interest rates go down business will remain slow. The good news is we are very well diversified in our business lines so I’m confident that we are set up properly to weather just about any storm – if we work together as a team that is!
Once again, I had the distinct pleasure of selecting and presenting our Operations Department award winner at our Sal Manso Annual Awards Banquet in December. This year’s Mover of the Year out of Franklin Park is Manuel Medrano. Manuel has been a mover with Reebie since 2003 and is one of our most requested movers. Our Mover of the Year out of Naperville this year is J Refugio Torres. Refugio has proven time and again that he is committed to outstanding service for our customers. Our Intrastate Contractor of the Year award goes to Andres Bolanos. Andres and his team of movers have been an important part of our organization since they joined us during the Jackson merger. Our Interstate Contractor of the Year award was given to Ivan Carranza. Ivan has been with Reebie for only a short time, however he has quickly worked his way to the top of our hauling list and is a testament to all the drivers out there, that hard work and dedication can drive you to success. And finally, our Operations Administration Employee of the Year went to Sandra Trujillo. Sandra came over to OPS after spending some time with Customer Service and has quickly adapted to her new role. Our drivers and fellow agents alike are always complimenting her work and dedication.
Congratulations once again to all of our 2023 award winners!
Lao Tzu, an ancient Chinese Taoist philosopher, once said, “A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.”
As we take our first step into the New Year, let us remember that we are walking into the start of something new. Let us remember to be kind and compassionate towards each other. Let us remember to support each other and work together as a team. And let us remember to focus on serving our customers to the best of our abilities. I promise you that we will be successful in walking those thousand miles if we do it together.
Sincerely,
Jeff
