OPERATIONS: JEFF ABBS – Page 5

The start of the New Year brings new hope and new opportunities to us all.  I find excitement in thinking about all the potential that each year brings.  Without a doubt, we will face many challenges this year as we have in years past, however I’m confident we will continue to grow stronger every day and we will find success!

For the first time this past year I had the distinct pleasure of selecting and presenting our Operations Department award winners.  While at first it seemed like it was going to be a daunting task, I found that I actually enjoyed the process as it gave me an opportunity to think about all the wonderful people we have on our team, and all the great contributions they each made this year.  I would like to recognize these award winners one more time in this article:

First, our Safety Award winners were Miro Botchev and Maximino Gorostieta.  If you don’t know Miro and Max very well, I can tell you that their attention to detail and their focus on safety are commendable.  Miro is always working on and taking great care of his truck and Max helps keep our Naperville warehouse safe and clean.  Up next, our Mover of the Year award was presented to Eric De Lao.  Eric is one of our local drivers and is very deserving of this award for his exemplary service as he finished the year with a 4.95 customer service rating.  Our Independent Contractor of the Year was Gaspar Ocampo.  As one of our leading haulers, Gaspar finished the year strong with a customer service rating of 4.85.  Finally, our Operations Administration Employee of the Year was given to Ryan Thies.  Ryan was promoted to our Interstate Operations Manager in February of 2021 and in a year where many fleets declined in size he was able to maintain our Interstate Fleet at 100%.  This combined with an improved 16% in revenue and 25% increase in productivity earned Ryan this prestigious award.

Congratulations once again to all of our 2021 award winners!

With it being the New Year, we are now busy preparing for what we are anticipating will be another demanding moving season.  The next few months we will be focused on identifying and reviewing any deficiencies and revising policies and procedures accordingly.  This will coincide with additional training of our current service providers and reinforcing our best practices with them.  In addition, we will be developing a new recruitment and orientation program for new hires in order to give our customers the best moving experience possible.  Finally, I would like to welcome Sandra Trujillo to the Operations Department.  Sandra is bringing her customer service expertise with her and will be focusing on developing and honing in on her dispatching and Operations capabilities.

Elmer Letterman said it best, “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity”.  Let’s take this time to prepare ourselves so that we can take advantage of all the opportunities that come our way.

Sincerely,

Jeff
