OPERATIONS: JEFF ABBS – Page 6

It’s hard to believe that April is here and Easter is right around the corner.  While the weather hasn’t been the most pleasant, I’m grateful for the milder spring days that we get to enjoy.  I’m sorry to say that business has not been very good for us the first part of the year.  Our revenue is down in almost all business segments with the exceptions being Store Your Things and International which is up almost 90% in revenue through the end of February.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like March is going to fare any better so we are starting the year in the hole, which isn’t great.

With that being said, I’ve been thinking about what the summer is going to look like for our business.  There are many things outside of our control, but one thing we can all help with is watching our bottom line and our expenses.  It’s more important now than ever that we limit our mistakes and that we all work together to find better solutions to our challenges.  We must do our best to provide our customers with the highest level of service that Reebie is capable of.  I think the best thing we can all do right now is stay positive and focus on the things that we can do to improve ourselves and the company as a whole.  We have prospered through many tough times together in the past and I’m confident that we can overcome any challenge so long as we all work together as a team.

I would like to take a moment to congratulate Roy Carranza for being name Allied Van Line’s Driver of the Month for January, 2023.  Roy has been with us for less than a year and there was no doubt in my mind that Reebie made the right decision to bring him on board and this certainly solidifies that.  Roy has been such a pleasure to work with and I’m sure I’m not alone when I say that.  I’m looking forward to many more years with him as a part of our fleet and I wish him many more successes!

I’m going to keep my article “short and sweet” this quarter.  However I would like to end with some wise words from our former President, Barack Obama.  He said:

“The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something.  Don’t wait for good things to happen to you.  If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.”

I have a feeling that this is going to be a year where we will need to make things happen.  Let’s not sit idly by and wait for anything to improve, let’s all take positive action so that we can triumph together.

Sincerely,

Jeff
