OPERATIONS: GARY RICHIED – Page 6
As we approach the last few days of February this year I am once again disappointed with the lack of work we are called to perform. I will never get accustomed to the seasonality of our business and so I am destined for this frustration of seeing trucks sitting idly by in our yard and service providers only working part time. It’s basically the same story every year but I cannot bring myself to accept it so I will struggle with this every winter.
On the other hand the same holds true for our summer busy season when we are blessed with an abundance of business, so much so that we are unable to handle all of it. And it is this that keeps us going, helping us to work through this tough period. So rather than sit around dwelling on the need for more work, we are busy focusing our attention on getting ready for it when it comes.
This year is especially hard as we say farewell to Cyndee Reckert, who for more than 20 years has been the sole Operations Coordinator. Cyndee is retiring, with February 28th being her last day with Reebie. It is hard to imagine the Operations Department without her as she has been the hub around which all the jobs are processed from sales for dispatch. She has done a great job of keeping everything running smoothly particularly during our peak periods when all hell is ready to break loose at any minute. We wish her all the happiness possible as she makes her retirement years all that she has hoped for.
I am pleased to introduce Maria Payan as our new Operations Coordinator who will taking over this position now beginning in March. Maria comes to us with a diverse background in customer service and has been trailing with Cyndee for the better part of February and I am confident that she is well prepared and will be up to the task.
How coincidental that the quote for February 28th is from Willa A. Foster that speaks directly to one of Cyndee’s attributes. “Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives”. I think that pretty much sums up her career here.
All the best, Cyndee
Peace and Prayers
