OPERATIONS: GARY RICHIED – Page 6
Going into December and wrapping up the fourth quarter of the year we are challenged with holding on to the revenue increases we have produced through the year and more importantly maintaining our profitability. This is proving to be an even greater task to accomplish this year as our opportunities continue to shrink, and we will have to be more diligent than ever before in converting every chance we get into more business.
One of the things we are doing to increase our opportunities is incentivizing our drivers to ask our current customers to go online and post a review on one of the many websites, to let anyone looking for moving services know how pleased they were with the job we did for them. The drivers are rewarded for every five star review they and their crew receive and we have just initiated a monthly competition between them. We are confident that our very satisfied customers will direct more business our way through these websites.
Last month Jeff Abbs attended his first annual meeting of the Allied Hauling committee as their newest member. He was asked to join this powerful committee that represents the majority of Allied’s fleet and includes corporate department heads from safety, operations, and alternative services, as well officers of Sirva. We are pleased that Jeff was selected and know he will do a fine job for the van lines while representing Reebie.
The quote of the month is from Ann Landers and is applicable to the subjects in this article. She wrote “Opportunities are disguised by hard work, so most people don’t recognize them.” The opportunities that we are seeking will present themselves by the hard work of our sales team and backed up by the 5 star service of our service providers. Through Jeff’s hard work the opportunity of being asked to join the hauling committee presented itself and he was able to accept the invitation.
The Christmas season is upon us and we will soon be caught up in the spirit. Families and friends will gather together to exchange gifts and to share the most wonderful time of the year together. Please take advantage of these opportunities as they are made available to you, be generous to those who are less fortunate, but most importantly devote some time in giving thanks for the Christ child as we celebrate His birth.
Merry Christmas, Peace and Prayers,
Gary
