FROM THE DESK OF THE PRESIDENT: RICHARD LICATA – Page 2

It’s hard to believe we are already halfway through the year and into the heart of our busy season. As I mentioned in our Q1 update, we knew we had some challenges ahead of us after a slower start to the year. Unfortunately, many of those challenges continue. High interest rates, continued inflation, and overall economic uncertainty are still impacting our industry and our customers. The recent conflict involving Iran has only added another layer of uncertainty to an already unpredictable economy.

Higher inflation continues to increase our cost of doing business across many areas, including labor, equipment, insurance, and everyday operating expenses. While we have done a good job managing through these challenges, the reality is we are still feeling the financial impact. Hopefully, as inflation eases and economic conditions improve, we will begin to see some relief.

Despite these headwinds, there are definitely positive signs. During the second quarter, we started to see business activity pick up across several areas. The phones are ringing more, opportunities are increasing, and we are seeing some of the momentum we hoped would come with the start of the busy season. While we don’t know exactly how long this busy season will last, we are hopeful the demand will be sustained and allow us to make up some of the ground lost earlier in the year.

As always, when business increases, it creates its own challenges. Everyone gets busier, the workload increases, and it puts more pressure on every department. That’s why continuing to improve our processes and embrace technology is so important.

One area where we are making real progress is with new tools designed to make us more efficient and provide an even better experience for our customers. The new self-populating Customer Service Requirements Form is a great example of eliminating duplicate work, reducing manual entry, and minimizing the chance for human error. In addition, the Van Line’s new Customer App will create a better connection with our customers, provide them with easier access to information, and reduce some of the pressure placed on our coordinators.

These changes may seem small individually, but together they represent a big step toward bringing more automation and efficiency into our daily operations. Technology will never replace the personal service that separates Reebie from our competition, but it can help us work smarter and allow our people to focus on what matters most — taking care of our customers.

As we move through the second half of the year, we need to stay focused, control what we can control, and continue providing the level of service our customers expect from us. We have weathered many difficult periods throughout our history, and each time we have adapted and come out stronger.

Thank you for your continued hard work, flexibility, and dedication. The challenges are real, but so are the opportunities in front of us. Let’s keep the momentum going and finish the year strong. Here’s to a successful and sustained busy season ahead.
