OPERATIONS: JEFF ABBS – Page 6
As we enter the New Year I find myself filled with gratitude and excitement. I’m grateful for all our successes and achievements this past year and I’m excited for us to take last year’s wisdom and use it to forge a new beginning in 2023. The first three quarters of last year were exceptional, however as all good things come to an end, and during the final quarter we saw business and opportunities plummet to their lowest levels in recent memory. I feel that we’re at the beginning of an economic recession and for a period of time it’s possible we are going to experience some troubling moments. My intentions are not to worry anyone but rather inspire everyone to resolve themselves to stay focused, develop a positive attitude, and be passionate about doing his or her part in making Reebie successful.
Once again, I had the distinct pleasure of selecting and presenting our Operations Department award winners at this year’s Sal Manso Annual Awards Banquet in December. This year’s Mover of the Year out of Franklin Park is Alvin Badillo. Mr. Badillo has been a mover with Reebie since 2003 and is one of our most requested movers. Our inaugural Mover of the Year winner out of Naperville this year is Porfirio Ramos. Mr. Ramos hasn’t been with Reebie for very long, however in the few short years that he has been here, he has proven that he is committed to outstanding service. Another inaugural award category this year is our Intrastate Independent Contractor of the Year. The first winner of this award is Ladislao Roman. Mr. Roman has been a mover with Reebie since April 2005 and has held several different positions with us. During peak season, Mr. Roman manages two efficient moving and packing crews for us. Our Interstate Independent Contractor of the Year was awarded to Vance Carswell. Mr. Carswell has been an owner-operator with us since 2019 and was commended for helping our Operations several times this year when we were in a dilemma. And finally, our most prestigious Operations award, the Operations Admin Employee of the Year went to Krystle Czerwinski. Krystle is no stranger to winning awards and after her first full year as our Local Dispatcher she proved once again why that is the case. She oversaw a 7.3% increase in revenue for local services in 2022 and worked countless hours of overtime which included many early starts.
Congratulations once again to all of our 2022 award winners!
Lao Tzu, an ancient Chinese Taoist philosopher, once said, “A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.”
As we take our first step into the New Year, let us remember that we are walking into the start of something new. Let us remember to be kind and compassionate towards each other. Let us remember to support each other and work together as a team. I promise you all that we will be successful in walking those thousand miles if we do it together.
Sincerely,
Jeff
