OPERATIONS: GARY RICHIED – Page 6
At the beginning of every new year, I find it invigorating to think of all the potential that each new year brings. The many opportunities that will present themselves, through our repeat customers, referral customers, and customers acquired through our many lead sources, are exciting to think about. I do, however, want to take a few minutes to recognize the award winners from last year who are responsible for a lot of our success.
It only seems right that I start with Frank Russell who was named Allied Van Lines Van Foreman of the year. Such a prestigious award from the van line is great recognition and gives you a good indication of the great job Frank does for us and our customers. We as a company also received the “Good Dawg” from Allied, and this award is for the company that the entire network of Allied drivers voted the best agent to work with. More recognition for us as a company that strives to do the best for all of our customers.
I have the distinct pleasure of selecting and then presenting the award winners within the Operations Dept. and I can tell you it is a daunting task with all of the outstanding people in this department. Jesse Martinez earned the Safe Diver award from our fleet of regional drivers and Moises Gomez was recognized as the Safe Driver from amongst the drivers in our interstate fleet. Jose (Ivan) Garcia, a perennial finalist and previous recipient was named as our “Mover of the Year”. Moises Gomez along with being a safe driver was awarded our “Independent Contractor of the Year” from our extensive list of “Master Movers”. This year Fortino Cervantes earned the distinction of “Operations Employee of the Year” for his unrelenting efforts to keep sales and operations focused on the needs of our customers, and following through to see that those needs are met.
Now onto the tasks at hand. While it is January, and needless to say we are not overwhelmed with moves to perform, we are busy preparing for what we are anticipating will be another demanding moving season. Taking advantage of the time this period provides we can identify and review any deficiencies and then revise policies and procedures accordingly. This will coincide with additional training of our service providers and reinforcing best practices.
Our goal every year at this time is to be as prepared as possible with the understanding that, as Elmer Letterman put it “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity”.
Peace and Prayers,
Gary
